My visit to prohibition ink was not for the services they provide! I work at a bridal shop and they kindly let us use the stunning shop for a photo shoot!!! Darlene and JJ (the owners) are the sweetest people who were always willing to help us! The decor is unlike any other! I was also able to go around to all the artists station and take in their amazing work! I loved it all that I instantly grabbed all the business cards to show my boyfriend who is constantly getting tattoos! When I am ready for a tattoo I definitely know where I am going!!!!!

I spent several years watching local tattoo artists before deciding to reach out to JJ at Prohibition Ink. I filled out the form and Darlene reached out. I was able to get in to chat with JJ and set a plan.
The day of the tattoo was the best experience. I was so nervous. JJ went over everything and made sure I was completely comfortable. The space was so clean. The art exquisite. The other staff were very respectful of my privacy. I could not have planned a better experience.
I am allergic to latex and adhesives so I didn't keep the sani wrap on long. I am on day 2 of healing. The after care instructions were told to me verbally a couple times and JJ gave me a sheet of information too. So far, so good. I will go back in a couple weeks to finish the color on part of the flowers.
The tattoo looks even better than I imagined it in my head. Thank you!

My husband got his first tattoo here from apprentice Rat. We were a walk in that they very kindly accommodated. Rat helped design a beautiful tattoo to my husband's specifications and talked us through the whole process.
Reasons why we chose here over other parlors:
- Excellent ratings compared to other parlors (seriously, go look at the statistical distribution, I'll wait)
- Their website has the best, clearest, most detailed instructions of any I found for what to expect and how to care for your tattoo after. They also gave us additional instructions while we were there.
Glad we chose here. :)

Positives and negatives can be said about my experience at Prohibition Ink. I did a lot of research and JJ had an impressive body of work. He had done a few geometric tattoos and they looked fine and all his other art was so amazing, I reasoned that it would work out.
I asked for something similar to the butterfly tattoo but with an owl. I wanted some delicate sacred geometry behind it. He didn't show me the geometry design till I was at the shop ready to get tattooed. It was much blockier and heavier than what I had originally intended, but I thought the darkness of the geometry might help offset the owl and make it stand out more.
The tattoo experience itself was good, he was a good conversationalist and we chatted the whole 3 hours. I did find him pretty cocky, but a nice guy overall. Once he was done, I still wasn't crazy about the dark behind the owl, but figured I'd grow to like it over time.
It wasn't until I took off the wrap and really looked at it that I realized that the geometry is very sloppily done. He said that he used a single needle instead of a shading needle, for the texture it would give it. It gave it texture, but looks like it was colored in with a ballpoint pen. It's very patchy and the geometry design itself is completely warped and not at all precise and clean.
At the time he said I could contact a few months after for a touch up, but I'm going to another artist, who specializes in geometric designs, to see if she can clean it up and add to the design to make it better. I'm happy with the owl, but not with the geometry at all.

I can’t say enough great things about Prohibition Ink. I’ve had multiple tattoos completed there over the years and the staff is outstanding to work with. JJ is exceptionally talented and efficient. I constantly get compliments on the work he’s done for me, which includes roughly 50 hours worth of work (including a coverup). The shop is beautiful and very inviting. For the best art, style, and technical acuity, there no where better than Prohibition Ink.
